Biblical meaning of dreams about being pregnant
Deuteronomy 28:4, 11, Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
Pregnancy in the dream While it could be a good sign for every expected mother. Having a baby is one of the common prayers of every woman. And in fact, baby is the soul of marriages. If you are a pregnant woman at the moment, dreaming of pregnancy can portend a positive meaning to some extent. But if you are not pregnant, and you keep seeing yourself being pregnant then the spiritual meaning is marital problem.
Dream that you or someone else is pregnant
To dream that you or someone else is pregnant represents something new that is developing in your life. A new way of thinking, new ideas, new goals, projects, or a new life situation. Preparations, choices, or consequences are leading towards a new life situation. A period of gestation of ideas or plans. A development phase that is sensitive. Carrying within you new life that may be in the form of a book, project, or new lifestyle. A time of transition. Feelings about a “new self” that is about to emerge. Contemplating making a big change.
A pregnancy in a dream also reflect some area of your life where more of something is being increased or produced. Artists often dream of being pregnant when they are starting a new work of art.
Negatively, being pregnant may reflect a new problem that is developing or a problem that is creating more problems. Watching the gestation of an event in your life that makes you jealous or scared. Feeling that a change in your life was not by choice and can’t be denied.
To dream about trying to get pregnant may represent your desire or wish for something in your life to develop. A wish to get something that’s important to you started.
If you are actually pregnant in real life then dreams of being pregnant may reflect your heightened anxiety or concerns about issues related to the pregnancy.
To dream of being pregnant with twins may represent feelings about developments in your life that will bring conflict. Expectations of conflict or arguments. Expectations for opposite opinions once a development or plan is completed. Feeling that once something in your life completes that you and someone else will think they are better than the other.
Example: A woman dreamed of seeing a pregnant women. In waking life she was an author that had come up with a new idea for a book to write.
What does the Bible say about pregnancy?
Pregnancy begins the moment a male sperm cell fertilizes a female egg within a woman’s body. In that moment, an embryo is formed. Within a few days, that embryo implants in the uterus and begins to grow and develop. For human beings, the length of pregnancy averages 280 days, or 36 weeks. Since the human race is propagated through pregnancies, in accordance with God’s blessing and command in Genesis 1:28, we should expect the Bible to have something to say about pregnancy—and it does.
The first recorded human pregnancy occurred when Eve conceived and gave birth to Cain (Genesis 4:1). Many pregnancies followed as humanity increased upon the earth, but the Bible does not give us any details of those pregnancies until the account of Abram (Abraham) and Sarai (Sarah) in Genesis 11:30: “Now Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive.” God highlights Sarai’s barrenness, as well as their old age (Genesis 18:11), to show that He was about to do something special. God gave Abraham and Sarah a son, Isaac, who was truly a miracle.
What we learn from Scripture about pregnancy is that God is the Author of life. He is intimately involved in the conception and development of every human being. Psalm 139:13–16 speaks of His direct involvement: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
Baby or pregnant
Both men and women can have this type of dream. Most of the time it is not a literal dream but symbolic. It’s God talking about birthing something new into your life. It could be a new job, a gift, an anointing, ministry, creativity, or even a clever invention.
Here are a few examples of baby or pregnancy dreams:
- There is more than one baby involved, such as twins or triplets.
This indicates that the new thing coming will be of greater magnitude: double, triple or even quadruple. - The baby newly born is soon walking or has a full head of hair and teeth.
This is showing that the new thing coming to you will mature and happen quickly. - The baby is not alive or needs to be resuscitated.
This is showing you that there is something that God is trying to do through you but it is being stopped or needs help to get it going again. - Someone gives you a baby or you find one.
This indicates that a gift or something new that has been neglected or let go is coming into your hands. - Your daughter is pregnant (she’s unmarried).
The fact that she is not married yet is irrelevant. Your daughter has something new coming into her life. - God is creative and loves to do new things for His children.
